Trump’s Attorney General appointee, Pam Bondi, last week called the crimes of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, “disgusting actions” “that will make you sick”after having been shamed into finally releasing some of the heavily redacted FBI files on Epstein as promised, according to the UK Guardian and other independent sources. Bondi sycophantically assured the public that the release of the files, though forced through congressional pressure, showed ‘President Trump’s commitment to transparency’, a sentiment echoed by one of the conservative media personalities favoured by the current administration, who then stated that ‘people will be going to jail for what they’ve done.’
This apparent abhorrence for a man who groomed girls and young women to be escorts for his rich and famous friends using various forms of coercion, occurred the day after Andrew and Tristan Tate, accused of rape, sexual assault, grooming and human trafficking of girls and young women, arrived by private jet in the US. These two, who have been held in Romania for several years and who were due to be extradited to the UK to face more charges against them, have, after discussions between American diplomats and the Romanian government, suddenly been released into US protection, despite the extradition agreement between Romania and the UK. Why? Apparently Andrew Tate, well-known for his fiercely misogynistic blogs in the US, has only good things to say about America’s new president, Trump. And we all know Trump loves people who love him. Trump was also a friend of Epstein’s, but since Epstein is dead and can’t no longer heap praise on him, Epstein has become the official scapegoat for ‘disgusting’ sexual crimes, while accused suspects, wanted in two jurisdictions, are brought to the US and allowed to walk free.
The current US administration is headed by a convicted sex offender, Trump himself, and is peopled by other accused sex offenders, such as Pete Hesgeth, now the head of the world’s largest military. The world has seen, time and again, that concerns about sexual perfidy are simply dismissed by the current American Administration. It is part of the increasingly ‘transparent’ disrespect for women and women’s roles outside the home being evinced by this government which seems to want to go back to the simpler, idyllic times of America’s ‘golden age’ before the sexual revolution of the 1960’s, when women ‘knew their place’, which was, of course, in the home, raising the wee ones while their men heroically went off to work to earn the money that paid the bills.
Over the last three weeks, government agencies have been tasked by Musk’s Doge to eliminate all references to anything that could be construed as DEI. That includes the words ‘woman’ and ‘women’. While the spoiled tradwives of well-off men are apparently loving this return to a golden age that never existed, the rest of American women, from impoverished single mums to shop clerks to research scientists, are quietly being erased from view. Meanwhile, misogyny and sexual predators are being supported, encouraged and enabled by a government who sees women quite simply as, Mark Zuckerberg has recently so eloquently put it on the new censorship rules on Meta, property. Property has no rights, but those who own the property have all the rights over that property.
It is essential that women, and men who actually believe that women are human beings too with an equal right to being treated as humans, see these connections and speak out in the US before women’s voices are silenced completely.
